JCSP Make a Book Exhibition

posted Mar 24, 2015, 10:28 AM by St Colmans Community college

Great fun was had recently when a group of first and second year students visited the JCSP Make a Book Exhibition 2015 at the Millennium Hall, City Hall, Cork. This is a creative cross-curricular project for students in the Junior Certificate School Programme (JCSP).

We were delighted to showcase our contribution Masks of Midleton at this nationwide exhibition of creative work.  Working in conjunction with Susan Herlihy of Crafty Hands, a group of second year students, produced some amazing ceramic masks representing different aspects of life in East Cork (social, economic and cultural).

Having proudly inspected their exhibit, the group then had an opportunity to have some lunch before returning to school. The accompanying first years really enjoyed the entire experience and are brimming with ideas for Make a Book 2016.

The student’s work is now proudly on display in the front foyer of the school.
